Dear Tribal IV-D Director:

The Final Rule: Computerized Tribal IV-D Systems and Office Automation was published in the Federal Register on February 25, 2010. This rule allows for federal financial participation (FFP) in the costs of installing, operating, maintaining, and enhancing automated processing systems for comprehensive tribal child support enforcement programs in accordance with section 455(f) of the Social Security Act. The federal Office of Child Support Enforcement (OCSE) has scheduled two opportunities to learn and ask questions on the final rule. As part of these meetings, OCSE will also provide training on preparing grant funding applications, called tribal Advance Planning Documents (APD), for tribal systems expenditures. The one-day meetings will be held as follows:

Tribes may select which meeting they wish to attend. Please register by Friday, March 12

The meeting is planned for two attendees per tribe. Tribes must arrange and pay for their own travel, lodging, meals and incidental expenses. However, after the meeting, please submit your actual expenses to Joe Lonergan in the Division of Grants Management. We are aware that this meeting is not in current budget requests. The Division of Grants Management will issue a supplement grant for the amount of the allowable expense for either the current or next quarter travel expenditures (dependent upon the timing of the receipt of those expenses).

Please note that this is not a training session on the Model Tribal System. Those training sessions will be scheduled for this summer. Details on Model Tribal System training will be made available in a separate issuance.
