Dear Colleagues

Finnish officials have requested that the Office of Child Support Enforcement notify states about a change in the Finnish agency responsible for the international recovery of maintenance, including United States-Finland child support cases. Due to a change in domestic legislation, effective January 1, 2011, the Ministry of Justice will become the Central Authority under the agreement between Finland and the United States.

OCSE is working with the Ministry of Justice to ascertain whether additional changes are required to “A Caseworker’s Guide to Processing Cases with Finland” found at IM-08-04.
