RE: Federal Offset and Pre-Offset Notice Program Fees - FY2014

Dear Colleague:

We are pleased to announce that fiscal year (FY) 2014 fees for federal tax refund offsets will continue at $14.65 per offset while FY2014 fees for administrative offsets will be reduced by $1.00 to $15.00 per offset.  

For states that have OCSE issue their Pre-Offset Notices (PON), first quarter FY2014 costs will remain at $0.54 per notice.  These costs cover postage and envelopes, as well as printing, stuffing, and mailing by our contracted vendor.  In December, we will reassess our contract costs to determine if PON fees can be reduced for the three remaining quarters in FY2014.  We will send a follow up e-flash and Dear Colleague Letter as soon as we know what those costs will be. 

The federal fiscal year runs from October to the next September.
