Federal Parent Locator Service (FPLS) Certification Letter
DCL-13-18
DEAR COLLEAGUE LETTER
DCL-13-18
DATE: September 9, 2013
TO: ALL STATE IV-D DIRECTORS
RE: Federal Parent Locator Service (FPLS) Certification Letter
Dear Colleague:
Annually each state is required to complete and submit to the federal Office of Child Support Enforcement a signed certification letter verifying that your state is compliant with safeguarding and security requirements related to locate information received from the FPLS and that your state is using the information only for the intended purposes.
The FPLS certification letter requires the signature of your state’s IV-D Director or designee. We have attached a copy of the document for you to use. Please e-mail the signed letter on your state’s letterhead to Betty LaCross at betty.lacross@acf.hhs.gov no later than September 30, 2013. If you have any questions, please contact Betty LaCross at 202-260-7512.
The Annual FPLS Safeguarding Certification will be superseded by the forthcoming Child Support Security Agreement. Therefore, this is the last year you will be asked to sign this Safeguarding Certification.
Thank you for your continued commitment to serving the needs of our nation's children.
Sincerely,
Vicki Turetsky
Commissioner
Office of Child Support Enforcement
