RE: Open Comment Period — Administrative Subpoena and Notice of Lien

Dear Colleague:

Section 452(a)(11) of the Social Security Act requires the Secretary of Health and Human Services to promulgate administrative subpoena and notice of lien forms for use in interstate cases. The federal Office of Child Support Enforcement developed the forms, which were effective October 28, 1997. The current Administrative Subpoena expires February 28, 2014, and the current Notice of Lien expires May 31, 2014.

In compliance with the requirements of Section 3506(c)(2)(A) of the Paperwork Reduction Act of 1995, the Administration for Children and Families is soliciting public comment on the forms. As of May 3, 2013, notices for public comment on the forms have been posted to the Federal Register, Notice of Lien is on pages 26051 -26052  (PDF), Volume 78, Number 86 and the Administrative Subpoena is on pages 26052 — 26053  (PDF), Volume 78, Number 86.

The need to reauthorize the forms provides the opportunity to consider revisions. When commenting, please be sure to reference OMB control number 0970-0152 for the Administrative Subpoena and OMB control number 0970-0153 for the Notice of Lien. Consideration will be give to comments received by July 3, 2013.
