DEAR COLLEAGUE LETTER

DCL-18-03

DATE: July 10, 2018

TO: State and Tribal IV-D Directors

SUBJECT: OCSE Staff Assignment Changes

Dear Colleague:

As some of you have been experiencing budget scrutiny and staffing shortages, we at OCSE have been faced with similar challenges. Unfortunately, this has meant that we haven’t been able to fill positions in regional offices to align with the number of grantees. Consequently, we need to adjust our regional staff workload and make assignments outside of the region in which they work.

We are reallocating some of our Region 4 staff to support programs in Region 10. Region 4 program specialists will be supporting the following Region 10 programs: the Coeur d’Alene Tribe, the Klamath Tribe, the Nez Perce, the Shoshone-Bannock, the Confederated Tribes of Umatilla, and the state of Idaho. These programs will continue to participate in Region 10 meetings and conference calls.

We have also assigned the Region 1 Regional Program Manager to oversee Region 5 in addition to Region 1. We have sufficient staffing in other regions to support the number of grantees.

We understand and recognize the importance of the long-standing relationships among regional staff and your child support programs. If you have any questions or comments, please contact your Regional Program Manager.

Sincerely,

Scott M. Lekan
Commissioner
Office of Child Support Enforcement
