Introduction
The Attorney General’s National Task Force on Children Exposed to Violence released a report in December 2012 that provides a comprehensive roadmap for preventing violence and for helping children and youth to heal and recover when it happens. The report makes a host of recommendations that would help identify these young people soon after their exposure and give them specialized services, evidence-based treatment and proper care and support.
The report is based on comprehensive research, testimony at four public hearings, and extensive input from experts, advocates, and U.S. families and communities affected by violence.
