Susan Golonka

Susan Golonka joined ACF as deputy director of the Office of Family Assistance (OFA) in May 2012.  In 2021, she also served as the acting director of OFA, overseeing administration of the Temporary Assistance for Needy Families (TANF) block grant, Tribal TANF, the Health Profession Opportunity Grants, and healthy marriage and responsible fatherhood activities-- providing overall guidance and direction for the work of OFA. She retired from federal service in 2022.

On July 8, 2015, HPOG hosted a Performance Reporting System (PRS) and Evaluation Closeout Webinar for current grantees. During this webinar, Nathan Sick from the PRS Support Team discussed the closeout process for the PRS system and instructions for receiving data extracts. Gretchen Locke, Project Director for the HPOG Impact Study, provided guidance for the final stages of the HPOG Evaluation and on-going activities for the study.

This infographic provides a visual representation of how the Health Profession Opportunity Grants (HPOG) program conducted Virtual Meetings as opposed to in-person meetings and illustrates the steps necessary for others to conduct a Virtual Meeting.

The Native Employment Works (NEW) program was created by amendments made to section 412(a)(2) of the Social Security Act by Public Law 104-193, the Personal Responsibility and Work Opportunity Reconciliation Act of 1996 (PRWORA).  The federal regulations for the NEW program are found at 45 CFR Part 287.

To provide guidance on submission of program, financial, and audit reports covering the NEW program, and to inform grantees about the new requirement to use Standard Form 425 (Federal Financial Report), rather than Standard Form 269A (Financial Status Report — Short Form), starting with their NEW financial reports for 7/1/2010 — 6/30/2011, which are due by 9/30/2011.
