Data Submission Procedures for FY 2010 Refugee Social Services (Including Secondary Migration Data) and Targeted Assistance Grant Formula Allocations

ORR advises refugees of the legal requirement to do three things: 1) apply to USCIS to adjust their status to Lawful Permanent Resident (LPR) after one year in the U.S. in refugee status, 2) advise USCIS prior to travel outside the U.S. so they can be issued the Refugee Travel Document, and 3) report their change of address to USCIS.

Clarifies that Afghan Special Immigrants are eligible for ORR benefits and services beyond September 30, 2008.

Stipulates that non-Cuban spouses and children are not eligible for ORR benefits and services unless they have another status qualifying them for ORR assistance.

Clarifies the meaning of employment to assist Refugee Service Providers to correctly report successful refugee employment outcomes.

Provides information about the health consequences of khat use.

Clarifies the impact of Medicaid guidance on populations who receive certification or eligibility letters from ORR, and certain other specified family members.
