Children’s Bureau announces the approval of the District of Columbia's Child and Family Services Agency Title IV-E Prevention Program Five-Year Plan: “Putting Families First in DC” as the country's first Family First Prevention Plan under the Family First Prevention Services Act.

National annual foster care and adoption data show the number of children in foster care, although still very high, dropped for the first year since 2011.
