ACF plays a significant role in our nation’s human services response to Presidentially declared disasters and public health emergencies. When activated to support a Disaster Human Services Case Management or Repatriation mission, ACF provides assistance to disaster survivors and to partners such as the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA), the American Red Cross, and to states, tribes, territories, and ACF programs and grantees.

The COVID-19 crisis requires a Whole Family response from state, local and tribal leaders. This page builds on ACF’s COVID-19 Resources and provides information geared towards state leaders. The intent is to provide current mandatory program flexibilities, guidance and resources in ACF programs, as well as information on other federal programs that serve vulnerable children and families. Information will be updated periodically.

The Office of Human Services Emergency Preparedness and Response (OHSEPR) within the Administration for Children and Families (ACF) and domestic lead for the U.S. Repatriation Program has provided Q&As on the program.
