This page provides links to a body of tools developed to provide technical assistance guidance to help child welfare agencies learn more about best practices in implementing various data exchange agreements with other programs or agencies. While some data exchanges are required by Comprehensive Child Welfare Information System (CCWIS) projects, each toolkit includes information that applies to any child welfare information technology project.

These documents can help staff from newly approved Child Welfare Waiver Demonstration projects complete the Initial Design and Implementation Report and subsequent quarterly progress reports, Semiannual Progress Reports, the Interim Evaluation Report, and the Evaluation Plan Outline.

In conjunction with National Foster Care Month, seven federal agencies announced actions to improve outcomes for our nation’s children and youth who are or have been in foster care.

Based on a review of the literature and discussions with experts in the field, the Office of Planning, Research and Evaluation (OPRE) within the Administration for Children and Families compiled a list of screening and assessment instruments to measure child and adolescent well-being and trauma.
