Prevention Demonstration Program (PDP)

The Runaway and Homeless Youth (RHY) Program announced the recipients of Basic Center Program (BCP) grant funding for FY2023. BCP funding helps community-based organizations meet runaway and homeless youths' immediate needs with temporary shelter, counseling, crisis intervention, and aftercare services.

FYSB's Runaway and Homeless Youth (RHY) program awarded Transitional Living Program (TLP) grants for FY2017. TLP funding supports long-term residential services to older homeless youth, ages 16 to 22.

These grants fund emergency shelters that provide short-term basic services—including food, shelter and counseling—to runaway and homeless youth.

This grant targets LGBTQ youth experiencing homelessness between the ages of 16 to 21, and young adults who have left foster care after the age of 18 up to age 21, but may need alternative housing and services. Based on an assessment of community needs, prospective applicants choose which population to serve or serve both.

These grants fund programs that reach out to runaway and homeless youth and refer them to services, with the ultimate goal of getting them off the streets.
