August is Child Support Awareness Month, an annual time to celebrate this critical income support program. Did you know in FY 2021, child support programs nationwide collected $32.7 billion and served 13.2 million children? That’s one in five children! This kind of support helps families thrive and sets kids up to succeed. It’s also one of the most cost-effective government programs, collecting $5.27 for every dollar spent. This year, the Office of Child Support Enforcement created a Child Support Awareness Month webpage with a social media toolkit to help state and tribal programs with their online outreach.
