Adoption Savings Information for Federal Fiscal Year 2016

Since federal fiscal year 2015, title IV-E agencies have been required to determine and report their annual adoption savings, which are the funds resulting from savings agencies achieve by applying the expanded title IV-E program eligibility criteria to applicable children. Agencies are required by law to spend an amount equal to what they saved on other child welfare services permitted under titles IV-B and IV-E of the Social Security Act. This 2016 report compiles data from state and tribal title IV-E agencies' reported adoption savings as well as background information on adoption savings requirements.
