This Program Instruction (PI) provides information for states and tribes who request FFP for costs associated with an automated data processing project covering one or more of the human services programs established by the Social Security Act. This addresses the use of commercial off-the-shelf (COTS) software applications by these agencies, including purchased, leased and hosted proprietary software products and software-as-a-service (SaaS) applications.

This DSS hosted webinar describes the lessons learned from implementing mobile solutions in Washington and in Minnesota, which is a state managed, county-administered state.  The presentation included representatives from Winona County and Carver County Minnesota who spoke about their county-level mobile solutions.

The Children's Bureau Data Analytics and Reporting Team held their first AFCARS Open Office Hours in 2023. These sessions are for state and tribal program administrators, child welfare data leaders, and information system programmers. It provides an opportunity to ask questions specific to your agency's implementation of AFCARS 2020. The January session was presented by the NCWDMS team on how to participate in the pilot and use the National Child Welfare Data Management System (NCWDMS) for AFCARS 2020 reporting.
