This webinar presents information about how the Arkansas Division of Children and Family Services (DCFS) and Arkansas Administrative Office of the Courts (AOC) have partnered for several years in order to share “real-time” information.

This state panel discussion, featuring Alabama, District of Columbia, and Wisconsin, discussed sharing child welfare and education data to improve practice and outcomes. Panelists shared the history of their exchanges along with future visions for their exchanges. In addition, panelists discussed the lessons learned from building relationships between child welfare agencies and education agencies and developing data exchanges between them. The panel included several question and answer sessions throughout the presentation.

Through the webinar series, “Back to Basics,” the Division of State Systems within the Children’s Bureau is offering a venue for information sharing and discussion. The fifth webinar of the series, “The Impact of Development Methodologies, Software Frameworks and Platform Choices on Release Management,” reviews the ways in which these different elements impact software release.

This webinar provided a vendor's perspective on how they interpret State RFP's and what factors go into a Bid/No Bid decision.

The Children's Bureau hosted a state panel from the previous cloud computing webinar held on September 5, 2018 for a follow-up discussion. The previous webinar on implementing a cloud computing strategy for child welfare information systems received very positive feedback and while it provided valuable information, there was insufficient time to fully explore all the issues. 

This DSS hosted webinar describes the lessons learned from implementing mobile solutions in Washington and in Minnesota, which is a state managed, county-administered state.  The presentation included representatives from Winona County and Carver County Minnesota who spoke about their county-level mobile solutions.

This DSS presentation is the second in a two-part series on CCWIS cost allocation and the difference between CCWIS and non-CCWIS cost allocation. It explains how to use the CCWIS Automated Function Checklist to develop a CCWIS cost allocation plan. In addition, it explains how to apply the cost allocation plan to project costs and how to submit cost allocation plans.

The Children's Bureau Data Analytics and Reporting Team held their first AFCARS Open Office Hours in 2023. These sessions are for state and tribal program administrators, child welfare data leaders, and information system programmers. It provides an opportunity to ask questions specific to your agency's implementation of AFCARS 2020. The January session was presented by the NCWDMS team on how to participate in the pilot and use the National Child Welfare Data Management System (NCWDMS) for AFCARS 2020 reporting.
