The Illinois Trauma Focus Model for Reducing Long-Term Foster Care Project is part of the Permanency Innovations Initiative (PII) cross-site and site-specific evaluation. The overview describes the evaluation stages and design to answer questions about the effectiveness of the intervention.

The PII approach integrates the tenets of implementation science and program evaluation into a coordinated framework to support and evaluate this initiative. This report describes this collaborative approach to implementation and evaluation that is currently underway.

This report provides preliminary estimates of Adoption and Foster Care Analysis and Reporting System (AFCARS) data for FY 2018. As states are permitted to resubmit AFCARS data, the estimates may change over time. This report reflects all AFCARS data received as of August 22, 2019 related to AFCARS reporting periods through September 30, 2018.

Diligent Recruitment of Families for Children in the Foster Care System: Challenges and Recommendations for Policy and Practice describes how child welfare agencies can improve diligent recruitment practices and services for resource families. It is based on grantee final reports and published research and presents activities undertaken by grantees, lessons learned, and suggestions for improvement.

The University of Kansas, in partnership with the Kansas Department for Children and Families and two private providers that comprise Kansas' statewide foster care network, is working to accelerate stable permanency for families of children with serious emotional disturbance (SED) by delivering intensive, home-based parent training and support services shortly after children are removed from their homes.

The Washoe County Department of Social Services aims to reduce the number of children in long-term foster care by implementing an intervention approach, SAFE-FC, to keep children safe, prevent them from coming into care, and to improve permanency outcomes for subgroups of children who have the most serious barriers to permanency.
