The Cost Allocation Demonstration webinar provided an overview of the Cost Allocation Methodology (CAM) Tool to assist states in allocating system project costs when more than one program benefits.

CCWIS Contracting and Procurement Part Two Webinar is the second installment of a 2-part webinar series which covered strategies regarding Acquisition approach (e.g., Agile, performance-based contracting, “. . .as a Service”), Drafting statements of work and the definition of “done,” Customization versus configuration, Intellectual property (IP) and, Contract language around warranties and IP. 

On February 3, 2022 the Children’s Bureau hosted a webinar on Title IV-E Program Data Submission which demonstrated using the National Child Welfare Data Management System (NCWDMS). The Webinar and Presentation slides may be accessed through the links below. 

The CCWIS Self-Assessment Tools Part Two webinar is part two of a 2-part webinar series on CCWIS technical assistance, self-assessment tools, and monitoring reviews.  This webinar will focus on the CCWIS self-assessment tools included in CCWIS Technical Bulletin #7.  We will discuss how the tools fit into the larger continuum of CCWIS technical assistance and reviews, the format of the tools, and examples of how title IV-E agencies can use the tools at different stages of CCWIS design and development. 

The CCWIS Self-Assessment Tools Part One webinar is part one of a 2-part webinar series on CCWIS technical assistance, self-assessment tools, and monitoring reviews.  In part one, the presenters discussed the continuum of technical assistance and review activities described in CCWIS Technical Bulletin #7.

This webinar described the CCWIS Design Requirements and preliminary work on the CCWIS Design Requirements and Self-Assessment Tool.  It included a description of the "conformance indicators" and a "scoring methodology" used to assess CCWIS design.  The webinar then described the Children's Bureau's process for conducting pilots and improving the tool, and it concluded with a discussion of the lessons learned from the pilots to date.

This webinar described best practices as you develop your CCWIS procurement approach and prepare to manage vendor contracts. Our goal was to provide contracting strategies to strengthen CCWIS projects and overall contract management. Participants were encouraged to share their own lessons learned and contract management practices.

This webinar was the seventh session in the AFCARS Final Rule Training Series. For this webinar, the Children's Bureau shared two new Technical Bulletins: 

  • Technical Bulletin 22: Reporting Population and Data Extraction
  • Technical Bulletin 23: Compliance and Data Quality

And a revised version of the previously released Technical Bulletin 21: File Structure and Encryption. There was also an opportunity to continue to ask questions so that the Children’s Bureau may develop relevant technical assistance resources.   We encourage you to submit any questions to AFCARS@acf.hhs.gov.

NYTD: Overview, Reflections & CCWIS Opportunities

This webinar described how Comprehensive Child Welfare Information System (CCWIS) can support program, data quality, and reporting requirements for the National Youth in Transition Database (NYTD).  It provided an overview of NYTD, discussed the importance of engaging young people in decision making, and explored opportunities for improved data collection technology and case management systems.
