This webinar described the Comprehensive Child Welfare Information System (CCWIS) Technical Assistance Review Process. It began with an overview of the lessons learned from the Statewide Automated Child Welfare Information System (SACWIS) review process. The presentation described the iterative review process and it explains the use of self-assessment tools. As of this presentation, some self-assessment tools were available for public comment and others were in development.

This Program Instruction (PI) provides guidance to agencies administering title IV-B, subpart 1 of the Act (the Stephanie Tubbs Jones Child Welfare Services Program) on the supplemental fiscal year (FY) 2020 funding provided under the CARES Act.

This document includes tips and resources for preparing state reviewers to conduct case reviews for the Child and Family Services Reviews and continuous quality improvement efforts, training quality assurance staff and reviewers remotely, and temporarily conducting remote interviews because of the COVID-19 pandemic.

This report presents key findings from an analysis of performance data for the states reviewed across all 4 years of round 3 of the Child and Family Services Reviews.

In an effort to ensure that all states have the same amount of time to measure progress from implementing their Program Improvement Plans and other CQI change and implementation activities, the Children’s Bureau is offering all states an 18-month non-overlapping evaluation period.
