Bridging the Partner Gap - Best Practices and Working with the Courts

Publication Date: March 26, 2015
Current as of:

The Arkansas Division of Children and Family Services (DCFS) and Arkansas Administrative Office of the Courts (AOC) have partnered for several years in order to share “real-time” information. During that time, DCFS continued to improve its statewide automated child welfare information system (SACWIS) to meet the changing needs of child welfare supervisors, caseworkers, program managers, parent counsel, and attorney ad litems. Webinar presenters discuss the challenges, successes, and the implications related to sharing information between DCFS and the courts. Presenters include Cecile Blucker, Director of DCFS; Nellena Garrison, SACWIS manager; and Kate Shufeldt, Court Improvement Program Director. During the Q&A session, attendees were encouraged to share their experiences and suggestions for working toward strengthening this type of partnership. In that spirit, the Court Improvement Program will also share this webinar’s announcement with its listserv membership.
