OMB 0970-0196
In 1998, legislation passed that simplified the process for financial institutions doing business in more than one state. It authorized the federal Office of Child Support Services (OCSS) to operate the Multistate Financial Institution Data Match (MSFIDM) program and enter into agreements with financial institutions to compare information about individuals who owe past-due child support with its account records. OCSS then sends the matched records to the state child support agencies.
Financial institutions must use the online Election Form to elect to participate in the MSFIDM program.
Transmitters can access the form at the OCSS Child Support Portal homepage .
- Click GO under Financial Institutions
- Click New User
- Select Financial Institution in the dropdown box.
- Follow directions to complete the form.
- Electronically sign and submit the form.
The online form will serve as the official operational agreement with OCSS. After we process your Election Form, our MSFIDM liaison will contact your financial institution with information on next steps.
