Highlights from CSPED Impact and Benefit-Cost Reports

This brief (PDF) highlights key findings from two National Child Support Noncustodial Parent Employment Demonstration (CSPED) evaluation reports:

They show that CSPED had many positive impacts, including these in the first year after enrollment:

  • Earnings increased by 4%
  • Satisfaction with the child support program increased by 45%
  • Contact between noncustodial parents and their nonresident children increased by 8%

Finally, the benefits of CSPED outweighed its costs within 10 years.
