This brief (PDF) highlights key findings from two National Child Support Noncustodial Parent Employment Demonstration (CSPED) evaluation reports:
They show that CSPED had many positive impacts, including these in the first year after enrollment:
- Earnings increased by 4%
- Satisfaction with the child support program increased by 45%
- Contact between noncustodial parents and their nonresident children increased by 8%
Finally, the benefits of CSPED outweighed its costs within 10 years.
