The goal of this three-year demonstration is to educate and motivate teens and young adults to postpone parenthood until after they complete their education, start a career, and engage in a committed relationship. We awarded grants in two phases:
- Cohort 1 (PDF) - In August 2020, we awarded grants to 8 state child support agencies in Colorado, Iowa, Georgia, Kentucky, Minnesota, Missouri, Ohio, and Texas.
- Cohort 2 (PDF) - In July 2021, we awarded grants to child support programs in 7 states (California, Colorado, Louisiana, Minnesota, Ohio, Virginia, Washington) and 2 tribes (Blackfeet Tribe of the Blackfeet Indian Reservation and Lac Courte Oreilles Band of Lake Superior Chippewa Indians).
Recipients in Cohort 2 will participate in peer learning opportunities with those in Cohort 1 to learn best practices and receive technical assistance as they plan and implement their programs. In addition, this cohort expands outreach to tribal youth, community college students, and rural youth populations.
