The child support program is deeply personal to me. Throughout my career, I've proudly shared how child support helped me as a single mother facing financial challenges. I understand the experiences of those our program serves because I was one of them. This shared experience has always fueled my unwavering commitment to creating meaningful change.

We made significant strides in advancing key child support priorities during the Biden-Harris administration. I am incredibly grateful for the child support community's embrace of my vision of engagement through my 3Ps: People, Process, and Performance. I believe these pillars helped us:

  • Prioritize the people we serve
  • Evaluate our policies to improve our processes
  • Improve our performance through data-driven decision-making

This work enhances my belief in establishing and maintaining positive relationships throughout my professional career. The invaluable insights gained from visiting tribal and local offices were truly inspiring. These visits reinforced my commitment to advocate for change and support the diverse needs of many cultures. I extend my heartfelt gratitude to state and tribal directors, as well as child support professionals, for their warm welcome and unwavering partnership.

I am incredibly grateful to the Biden-Harris administration, HHS, and ACF leadership for the opportunity to expand my commitment to public service in this role. Serving as commissioner allowed me to channel my passion into supporting children, families, individuals, and communities across the nation. This administration's leadership, dedication, and tireless efforts have achieved remarkable progress for the child support program, and for that, I am deeply appreciative.

It's been the profound honor of my life, as a small-town girl from Pelham, Georgia, to serve in an executive branch role and strive for positive national change. While my tenure as commissioner concludes on January 20, my commitment to supporting and enhancing this vital program remains unwavering. I look forward to standing alongside you all as we continue to empower children and families in 2025 and beyond.
