BACKGROUND: The Preventing Sex Trafficking and Strengthening Families Act of 2014 provides the authority for tribal IV-D programs to access the Federal Parent Locator Service (FPLS). On February 22, 2016, we issued TDCL-16-01 with instructions on gaining access to the FPLS.

CONTENT: With this information memorandum, we provide answers to frequently asked questions regarding FPLS access. Also included is a tribal IV-D Self-Assessment Tool to help tribal IV-D agencies assess and document compliance with OCSE’s security requirements.
