TO: State Agencies Administering Child Support Enforcement Plans under Title IV-D of the Social Security Act and Other Interested Individuals
SUBJECT: Extension of the OCSE-157 Child Support Enforcement Annual Data Report and Instructions
BACKGROUND: State agencies administering child support enforcement programs under Title IV-D of the Social Security Act are required to submit the OCSE-157 data collection form. The data collected on this form are compiled and presented in the Child Support Enforcement’s preliminary reports and Annual Report to Congress. These data are also used to compute individual state incentive, penalty, and program performance measures.
The Office of Management and Budget (OMB) has granted the Office of Child Support Enforcement (OCSE) an extension for collecting the information contained in the OCSE-157 Annual Data Report. The valid OMB control number for this collection is 0970-0177.
The extension for the use of this form expires September 30, 2017. There were no changes to the form or instructions other than the submission instructions update below:
Changes to the OCSE-157 Form Instructions:
- Submittal instructions: We updated the instructions to specify that electronic submission is no longer optional; all reports must now be submitted electronically via the Online Data Collection (OLDC) system. We also updated hyperlinks to provide the current OLDC web address.
We anticipate making substantive revisions and clarifications to the instructions early next year to allow states sufficient time for any needed systems changes. Proposed changes will be published in the Federal Register for public comments.
