RE:  Quadrennial Review of Child Support Guidelines

Dear Colleague:

With this letter, we remind tribal child support programs that the regulation at 45 CFR 309.105(a)(4) requires the tribal IV-D plan to indicate that the child support guidelines will be reviewed and revised, if appropriate, at least once every four years.  Therefore, you should inform your designated OCSE Regional Program Specialist of your schedule for conducting these quadrennial reviews.

In accordance with 45 CFR 309.35(e) , when tribes make revisions to their guidelines, they must submit a tribal IV-D plan amendment and include a copy of the new child support guidelines.  Section 309.60(b) indicates that tribes are responsible for ensuring that all approved IV-D functions are carried out properly, efficiently, and effectively.

Please contact your designated OCSE Regional Program Specialist if you need technical assistance.

Sincerely,

Vicki Turetsky
Commissioner
Office of Child Support Enforcement
