The Child Support Program is a Good Investment

This paper describes the benefits of the child support program and shows that it is among the largest income support programs serving children in the United States. Child support is especially beneficial to poor custodial families, representing over 40 percent of their family income when they receive it. The child support program pays for itself by reducing the need for other public assistance programs.
