Hague Convention in effect in British Columbia, Manitoba, Ontario
Canada ratified the 2007 Hague Child Support Convention. The Convention is in effect in British Columbia, Manitoba and Ontario.
For child support cases with these provinces, states should use the Hague Convention forms and follow the instructions set out in the Practical Handbook for Caseworkers under the 2007 Convention (PDF).
These provinces and territories are Foreign Reciprocating Countries (FRCs):
Alberta, New Brunswick, Newfoundland & Labrador, Northwest Territories, Nova Scotia, Nunavut, Prince Edward Island, Saskatchewan, Yukon
Existing FRC procedures continue to apply to these Canadian provinces and territories. Some of them may become Hague Convention jurisdictions in the future. This web page will be updated when changes occur.
