When programs apply for FYSB funding, they must show how they will serve LGBTQ youth needs in their program design. This includes creating an inclusive environment and establishing and publicizing policies that prohibit harassment based on race, sexual orientation, gender, gender identity (or expression), religion, and national origin.

FYSB’s information resource, the National Clearinghouse on Homeless Youth and Families, also offers an assortment of publications and resources that help family and youth workers better understand the needs of LGBTQ young people and how they can go about making their programs more LGBTQ-friendly.

The National Clearinghouse on Homeless Youth and Families, FYSB’s free information service, is partnered with the Runaway and Homeless Youth Training and Technical Assistance Center (RHYTTAC).  RHYTTAC offers several online trainings related to building and sustaining RHY grant programs.
