Education is key to the Family and Youth Services Bureau’s mission to end youth homelessness in 2020

Publication Date: August 3, 2016

This spring, FYSB partnered with the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services and U.S. Department of Education in an ongoing collaboration to support disconnected youth in reaching their educational goals. This partnership aims to:

  • Provide coordinated support to disconnected youth who, too often, lack access to postsecondary education and skill training opportunities.
  • Provide learning opportunities and expand awareness of resources that will allow grantees to better meet the needs of students.
  • Collaborate to yield more educational opportunities for youth who are outside the trajectory toward postsecondary education and related pathways.

Additional partnership resources include a series of informational webinars for grantees and staff of FYSB and the Office of Postsecondary Education as well as features within the quarterly Student Service Newsletter and from the National Clearinghouse on Families and Youth Visit disclaimer page .
