On July 27, 2016, the U.S. Department of Education collaborated with the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services to present this webinar about education for disengaged and homeless young people.

This two-page resource provides 10 tips for creating a strong grant application. 

The purpose of the Title V State Sexual Risk Avoidance Education (SRAE) Program is to fund states and territories to implement education exclusively on sexual risk avoidance that teaches youth to voluntarily refrain from sexual activity. The program is designed to teach youth personal responsibility, self-regulation, goal setting, healthy decision-making, a focus on the future, and the prevention of youth risk behaviors such as drug and alcohol use without normalizing teen sexual activity.

The FY 2020 Coronavirus Supplemental Funding provides one-time funding to support ACF recipients/grantees funded under the CARES Act in preventing, preparing for, and responding to COVID-19. This information sheet provides guidance on reporting required of grantees as recipients of this funding.  

Several of FYSB's APP grantees have submitted questions related to flexibilities in programming, data collection, and the use of federal awarded funds in light of the COVID-19 situation. To address APP grantees' specific programmatic questions and concerns, FYSB has provided responses to several frequently asked questions.  

Beginning in FY2015, all Runaway and Homeless Youth Program grantees were required to begin using HMIS, operated by their local U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development-funded Continuum of Care, or CoC, for all data reporting to the Family and Youth Services Bureau (FYSB). FYSB refers to the expanded system as RHY-HMIS. These frequently asked questions should aid in that reporting.

The Family & Youth Services Bureau (FYSB), Runaway & Homeless Youth (RHY) Program, is actively recruiting new reviewers to support the evaluation of federal grant applications submitted for the Basic Center Program (BCP). BCP helps create and strengthen community-based programs that meet the immediate needs of runaway and homeless youth under 18 years old.

The RHY (Runaway and Homeless Youth) final rule reflects existing statutory requirements in the Runaway and Homeless Youth Act and changes made via the Reconnecting Homeless Youth Act of 2008 (Public Law 110-378).
