Human trafficking is a criminal issue and a public health challenge. It can happen to any person of any race, age, gender, socioeconomic background, sexual orientation, ethnicity, religion or nationality. However, some populations are more vulnerable to human trafficking than others. The Family and Youth Services Bureau (FYSB) funded projects serve children, youth, individuals, and families nationwide that have been impacted by extreme trauma and adverse experiences. Certainly, intimate partner violence, homelessness, lack of youth supporting systems, socio-economic challenges, and structural racism and inequities increase the risks for multiple victimizations, including human trafficking.

This fact sheet provides an overview of the Family and Youth Service Bureau's (FYSB's) three program areas: the Runaway and Homeless Youth Program, Adolescent Pregnancy Prevention Program, and Family Violence Prevention and Services Program.

This Report to Congress discusses the activities and accomplishments of the Runaway and Homeless Youth Program for fiscal years 2016 and 2017.

The Runaway and Homeless Youth (RHY) Program announced the recipients of Maternity Group Homes for Pregnant and Parenting Youth (MGH) Program grant funding for FY2021. MGH funding helps community-based organizations meet the needs of homeless pregnant and parenting young people, ages 16 up to 22, as well as their dependent children, by providing transitional living services and teaching parenting skills, child development, family budgeting, and health and nutrition.

FYSB awarded Title V State SRAE program grants for the October 1, 2019 through September 30, 2021 budget period totaling more than $45.7 million to the 37 states and territories shown below.

Several of FYSB's APP grantees have submitted questions related to flexibilities in programming, data collection, and the use of federal awarded funds in light of the COVID-19 situation. To address APP grantees' specific programmatic questions and concerns, FYSB has provided responses to several frequently asked questions.
