Become a Grant Reviewer for the Family Violence Prevention and Services Program

The Family Violence Prevention and Services Program provides primary federal funding for domestic violence shelters and supportive services and seeks qualified practitioners and experts to serve as peer reviewers and panel chairpersons for the following federal Discretionary Grant Programs supported by the Family Violence Prevention and Services Act.
  • National Resource Center on Domestic Violence
  • National Indian Resource Center Addressing Domestic Violence and Safety for Indian Women
  • Special Issue and Culturally Specific Resource Centers and Institutes
  • LGBTQ Institute on Intimate Partner Violence
  • Specialized Services for Abused Parents and their Children (Demonstration Projects)
  • Expanded Services for Children, Youth, and Abused Parents Impacted by Domestic Violence
  • National Capacity Building Center on Safe and Supportive Housing for Domestic Violence Survivors
  • Capacity Building and Technical Assistance for Family Violence and Services Act Formula Grantees
Qualifications:
  • Practitioner with local, state and/or national experience in intimate partner violence prevention and intervention, and/or an expert working within culturally specific communities whose work intersects with victims of intimate partner violence.
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills.
  • Ability to quickly synthesize and analyze complex materials.
  • Strong writing skills.
  • Comfortable participating in a virtual team environment.
  • Ability to effectively utilize the internet and web-based technology.
  • Proficient in English.

  • Adobe Acrobat or other PDF reader
Level of Commitment:
  • Participate in 1.5 hour mandatory training session.
  • Devote 8 hours daily over a period of 5 consecutive days to read, evaluate and score applications.
  • Devote 1-2 full days for panel consensus discussion, if necessary.
