OFA Publishes IM on Use of TANF Funds to Promote Employment Programs for Noncustodial Parents

The Office of Family Assistance published an Information Memorandum (IM-2018-01) to remind states that they may use Temporary Assistance for Needy Families (TANF) funds to serve noncustodial parents in employment programs. The IM describes the opportunities and limitations of using TANF and state maintenance-of-effort (MOE) funds on employment programs for noncustodial parents, and encourages states to prioritize helping noncustodial parents find employment and pay their child support.
