States and Territories are required to reserve and use a portion of their Child Care and Development Block Grant (CCDBG) funds for activities designed to improve the quality of child care services and increase parental options for, and access to, high-quality child care. Support for continuous quality improvement is expected to cover the entire age span of children supported by the Child Care and Development Fund (CCDF), from birth through age 12. The activities should be in alignment with a State/Territory-wide assessment of the State’s/Territory’s needs to carry out such services and care. The CCDBG Act of 2014 requires States and Territories to use the quality set-aside to fund at least one of the following 10 activities listed below.
