As of October 2022, the Data Viewer reports are available on CARS. The Office of Child Care no longer distributes the Data Viewer; however you can still utilize the software if you have it downloaded.
The Child Care Data Viewer was a software tool to help improve the quality of ACF-801 data and enhance its utilization. Now, all the reports that were previously available in the Data Viewer can be run in CARS.
The reports from the Data Viewer analyze the monthly ACF-801 file that you load and examines it for three types of errors: missing information, inconsistent information, and out of range information. A Summary Assessment Report is generated that allows you to identify problem areas and make necessary corrections to your file after submitting it to CARS. Additional information about the Summary Assessment Report is available in Technical Bulletin #9 available here.
There are a number of data reports based on the information in the ACF-801 file. Examples of reports include family profiles, caseload information, and financial profiles.
