Re: Reallotment of FY 2016 LIHEAP Funding

Date: September 8, 2017

Dear Colleagues:

The U.S. Department of Health and Human Services (HHS), Administration for Children and Families (ACF) Office of Community Services (OCS), Division of Energy Assistance (DEA), is releasing nearly $3.3 million as the final release of funding in FY 2017 for the Low Income Home Energy Assistance Program (LIHEAP).

LIHEAP grantees reported to ACF amounts available for redistribution, "reallotment", from FY 2016. ACF published a Federal Register Notice on June 19, 2017 seeking public comments on the amounts reported by LIHEAP grantees as available for reallotment. After completing reconciliation of the reports, ACF determined the total amount available to redistribute this year as required by the federal LIHEAP statute.
