RE: FY 2018 Second and Final LIHEAP Funding Release

The U.S. Department of Health and Human Services (HHS), Administration for Children and Families (ACF), Office of Community Services (OCS), Division of Energy Assistance (DEA) is releasing over $609 million in a second and final round of fiscal year (FY) 2018 funding available for the Low Income Home Energy Assistance Program (LIHEAP).
Congress appropriated these funds under the Consolidated Appropriations Act, 2018 (Public Law 115-141 Visit disclaimer page ), which provided the final budget for FY 2018 and which the President signed into law on March 23, 2018. The legislation provides for a total funding amount of $3.64 billion for the year. As of today, OCS has allocated all of the funding available to grantees for FY 2018, with the exception of a small reallotment of FY 2017 funding available for use this year. ACF anticipates a separate issuance of grant award letters this year accounting for the 2017 reallotment funding.
