Congresswoman Rashida Tlaib is a well-known progressive warrior and, in her own words, “a mother working for justice for all.” Rashida made history in 2008 by becoming the first Muslim woman to ever serve in the Michigan Legislature. She is beloved by residents for the transformative constituent services she provided, and for successfully fighting the billionaires and corporations that tried to pollute her district.

Dr. Lanikque Howard is the director in the Office of Community Services. She provides leadership and oversight of over $12 billion annually in mandatory and discretionary grants through a multitude of social service and community development programs.

Andrew L. Lee is the Manager of Customer and Community Services at the East Bay Municipal Utility District (EBMUD). He advocates for customers in underserved and disadvantaged communities through the Customer Assistance Program — helping to ensure water affordability for all low-income customers.

Coty Montag serves as senior counsel at the NAACP Legal Defense and Education Fund (LDF) in numerous economic justice matters, including Pickett v. City of Cleveland, the first lawsuit to challenge a municipality’s water lien practices under the Fair Housing Act (FHA).

Scott Rubin is an independent attorney and consultant who recently retired after working exclusively on issues affecting the public utility industry for more than 37 years.

Dr. Shubhayu Saha is a health scientist with the Climate and Health program at the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), and currently on detail to the Office of Climate Change and Health Equity at the Office of Assistant Secretary for Health.
