The Office of Community Services (OCS) is excited to announce its move to the Mary E. Switzer Building as part of the relocation of the Administration for Children and Families (ACF).
As of November 28, 2015, ACF joined the Administration for Community Living, the Departmental Appeals Board, the Office of Assistant Secretary for Health, the Office of the National Coordinator for Health Information Technology, and the Office of the Assistant Secretary for Administration at 330 C Street, Southwest, Washington, DC. The move allowed the Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) to consolidate all ACF operations and program offices under one roof – we are truly excited to be located with our Head Start colleagues for the first time in years – and bring ACF closer to other HHS operating and staff divisions, as the Switzer Building is adjacent to the Hubert H. Humphrey building, HHS’ Headquarters.
OCS is particularly excited that the new office location maintains our accessibility to stakeholders. The Switzer Building is conveniently located in the heart of Capitol Hill. It is directly across the street from the Federal Center SW metro station (Orange, Blue and Silver Lines) and within walking distance from the L’Enfant Plaza metro station (Orange, Blue, Green and Yellow Lines). Restaurants, as well as coffee and sandwich shops, are located along 3rd Street Southwest and C Street Southwest.
OCS’s relocation to the Mary E. Switzer building is quite fitting; the building honors Ms. Switzer’s years of service to public welfare, specifically championing the rights of people with developmental and intellectual disabilities. OCS believes the Switzer Building location will create new opportunities for collaboration as we work to reduce the causes of poverty, increase opportunity and economic security of individuals and families and revitalize communities.
OCS staff contact numbers and email addresses remain the same. However, all written correspondence should be directed as follows:
