Dear Colleague Letter

Re: FY2015 CSBG 3rd Quarter Allocations

Date: April 15, 2015

Dear Colleague:

The purpose of this message is to provide you with an update on the third quarter allocations of Community Services Block Grant (CSBG) funds for fiscal year (FY) 2015.  These awards represent the fourth release of funding to date for FY 2015.

Congress appropriated these funds under the Consolidated and Further Continuing Appropriations Act of 2015 (FY 2015 Omnibus)  (PDF), which provided the final budget for FY 2015 and which the President signed into law on December 16, 2014.

The third quarter allotment for CSBG funding has been released to all States, Territories, and Tribes that have submitted complete plans.

The attached chart shows the initial allocation amount, second and third quarter allocation amounts, the total amount released to date, and remaining balance for FY 2015.  The Office of Community Services (OCS) will release the remaining funds prior to the start of the fourth quarter.

Please note that there has been an update to previous instructions regarding the Uniform Guidance applying to FY 2015 grants.  The Uniform Guidance will now apply to FY 2016 grants.  This FY 2015 grant will continue to use OMB cost principles released in prior OMB Circulars along with terms and conditions that were in effect for the grant as of October 1, 2014.  Additional information on this matter will be released shortly.

We appreciate your hard work and dedication to community services and activities supported with these resources.  Thank you for your continued partnership and cooperation in promoting the economic and social well-being of America’s families, children, individuals and communities.

Sincerely,

Jeannie L. Chaffin                                                                          Seth Hassett
