Community Services Block Grant
Dear Colleague Letter

Re: Release of Quarter 1 FY 2019 Funds

Date: November 14, 2018

Dear Colleagues:

The purpose of this message is to provide you with an update on apportionment of Community Services Block Grant (CSBG) funding during the first quarter of Fiscal Year (FY) 2019. On September 28, 2018, the President signed the Department of Defense and Labor, Health and Human Services, and Education Appropriations Act, 2019 and Continuing Appropriations Act, 2019 (Public Law 115-245). A chart outlining the amounts allocated to all states, territories, and tribes through December 31, 2018 is attached.

In an effort to continuously promote transparency and in accordance with CSBG Federal accountability measures; grantees will receive an award letter or e-mail with information on the status of the state’s plan review. If you are contacted with a request for information, please respond as quickly as possible so that your award can be issued. If you have immediate questions about the status of your CSBG plan, please contact your designated program specialist.

Thank you for your continued partnership with the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services and the Administration for Children and Families. We look forward to continued work with you to strengthen the CSBG network and provide strong accountability and leadership to positively impact America’s low-income families and communities.

Clarence H. Carter
Acting Director
Office of Community Services
