FY 2000 Community Services Block Appropriation and Allocations

Attached is a copy of the FY 2000 CSBG allocations. The calculation of the allocation is based on the language in the Omnibus Consolidated Appropriation Act of 2000, Public Law 106-113 . The CSBG appropriation for FY 2000 is $530,000,000. This amount as compared to last year is a 16 percent increase.

However, we do anticipate that there will be a reduction (amount to be determined) in the future. The FY 2000 calculations are based on the appropriated amount.

Grants will be awarded immediately to States and Tribal Organizations with completed FY 2000 applications. States will receive one fourth of the State's allocation amount. Tribe/Tribal Organizations will receive an initial award in the amount of 75 percent of the Tribe's allocations.

When the reduction is determined you will be notified. In the meantime, you might, want to use FY 1999 CSBG award amount and amend contracts as appropriate once the amount of the reduction is determined. If you need further clarification, feel free to contact the Program Specialist for your State.
