Dear Colleagues,

We hope you have enjoyed the Office of Community Services’ (OCS’) observance of National Diaper Need Awareness Week from September 23 through September 29. Today, we would like to highlight and congratulate our brand new fourth cohort of Diaper Distribution Demonstration and Research Pilot (DDDRP) grant recipients who were announced in this ACF Press Release.

  • Choctaw Nation of Oklahoma
  • Colorado Community Action Association
  • Florida Association for Community Action
  • Georgia Community Action Association, Inc.
  • Indiana Community Action Association, Inc.
  • Oklahoma Association of Community Action Agencies
  • Wisconsin Community Action Program Association, Inc.

To learn more about these new grant recipients, be sure to check out their grant recipient profiles on the DDDRP website.

Over the course of National Diaper Need Awareness Week, OCS demonstrated the impact and progress of the first three cohorts of the DDDRP with the launch of several new resources and information hubs. Here is a recap of the resources we shared:

  • Spotlight Videos on Virginia and South Carolina: To see the tangible impacts of these funds on beneficiary families, OCS released spotlight videos about the DDDRP in South Carolina and Virginia. Watch these videos to hear directly from beneficiary families how this program has impacted diaper need. Their stories underscore the critical importance of diaper access as a cornerstone of the physical health of children and the mental well-being of caregivers, enabling them to focus on other aspects of child-rearing and move towards stability and economic mobility.
  • Diaper Distribution Demonstration and Research Pilot Data Dashboard : This is a one-stop shop for all things DDDRP — from understanding the public health impact of diaper need, to learning the structure of the pilot and how it supports families, to visualizing the impact on families enrolled, and resources for prospective recipients. With videos, an interactive map, useful infographics and visuals, the dashboard puts all the pilot program’s data in one place!
  • National infographic: (PDF) With three active cohorts of the DDDRP grant program, OCS is serving communities across 21 states, two tribes, and one tribal consortium. This National Diaper Need Awareness Week, OCS released a national infographic which utilizes program reporting and data to highlight the DDDRP’s success and progress to date across the country.
  • Access one-pagers: These resources will help beneficiary families get connected to the nearest pilot program in their area. With guidance including eligibility details, service areas, and contact information, these one-pagers serve as a central hub for families looking for diaper services.

As a reminder, you can find all these resources on the Diaper Distribution Demonstration and Research Pilot website.

Thank you for your attention to these matters. OCS looks forward to continuing to provide high-quality services to OCS partners.
