The Office of Community Services (OCS) is committed to ensuring the Community Services Block Grant (CSBG) Network can address the critical needs of people and communities with low incomes, as consistent with the purpose and allowable uses of CSBG. The purpose of this DCL is to remind CSBG state, territory and tribal lead agencies and eligible entities of flexibilities and resources available to support hurricane preparedness and response. The National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration Visit disclaimer page (NOAA) predicts another above-average Atlantic hurricane season (which is inclusive of the Atlantic Ocean, the Gulf of Mexico, and the Caribbean Sea)

To provide instructions and the application requirements for the CSBG Disaster Supplement Funds, Stage 3, Longer Term Recovery Efforts grants. Applications are due Thursday, May 13, 2021.

Use of CSBG Resources to Support COVID-19 Vaccination Efforts

This Information Memorandum highlights how Community Services Block Grant (CSBG) grantees and local eligible entities (commonly referred to as Community Action Agencies or “CAAs”) can play a vital role in strengthening and advancing COVID-19 vaccination efforts and increasing community awareness, as CAAs serve as trusted entities in communities and reach 99% of U.S. counties.

The purpose of this message is to provide you with an update regarding Executive Order 13969, issued on December 28, 2020. This document provides guidance for both state Community Services Block Grant (CSBG) lead agencies and local eligible entities on providing emergency learning scholarships and other supports to low-income school age students and families impacted by school closure.

This guidance provides preliminary information on the Community Services Block Grant (CSBG) Coronavirus Aid, Relief, and Economic Security (CARES) Act Supplemental Award process. More detailed information and plan amendment instructions will be forthcoming in an Action Transmittal.
