Use of CSBG Resources to Support COVID-19 Vaccination Efforts

This Information Memorandum highlights how Community Services Block Grant (CSBG) grantees and local eligible entities (commonly referred to as Community Action Agencies or “CAAs”) can play a vital role in strengthening and advancing COVID-19 vaccination efforts and increasing community awareness, as CAAs serve as trusted entities in communities and reach 99% of U.S. counties.

Please see the attached SSBG IM (Transmittal No. 02-2018) related to the electronic submission of Real Property Standard Form (SF)-429 and attachments.

To provide LIHEAP grantees the State Median Income (SMI) estimates for use in the Low Income Home Energy Assistance Program (LIHEAP) for federal Fiscal Year (FY) 2021.

To inform States and U.S. Territories of the CSBG application requirements for FY 2011. CSBG applications shall be submitted to the Office of Community Services by September 1, 2010 (if you did not submit an application which covered two fiscal years in the prior year).

To inform Indian Tribes and Tribal Organizations of the CSBG application requirements for FY 2011 and to provide a framework for the introduction of a suggested format and “Outline for Model Tribe and Tribal Organization CSBG Application”.

To provide guidance for executing actions involving the Making Work Pay Tax Credit.

To ensure a consistent understanding of legal requirements and procedures for termination or proportional reduction of funding to eligible entities receiving CSBG funds
