On October 24, 2012, The Corporation for National and Community Service released notification of possible funding for Tribal groups that would put AmeriCorps members on the ground to help them tackle the unique challenges facing Native American communities.
The grant competition is designed to help national service programs achieve greater impact by targeting resources on a core set of challenges: disaster services, economic opportunity, education, environmental stewardship, healthy futures, veterans and military families, and language preservation.
The Office of Community Services (OCS), within the Administration for Children and Families, will fund 13 one-year cooperative agreements under the Community Services Block Grant (CSBG) Training and Technical Assistance (T/TA) Program for State Exemplary Practice Projects (EPPs) supported by the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act of 2009 (ARRA).
