CSBG Grant Flexibilities amid COVID-19 Public Health Emergency

To provide states, territories, and tribes information regarding the flexibilities for Community Services Block Grant (CSBG) awards during the COVID-19 Public Health Emergency, the applicability of each flexibility and, where appropriate, the Office of Community Services (OCS) adoption of these flexibilities.

This message provides a brief explanation of the minimum and maximum allotment provisions outlined in the Community Services Block Grant Act (CSBG Act) and the current status of both minimum and maximum allotments as applied to the CSBG Coronavirus Aid, Relief, and Economic Security Act (CARES Act) funding.

Thank you for your partnership with the Office of Community Services (OCS) to ensure safe and continued services to the vulnerable children, families, and communities we serve. Here, you will find consolidated OCS program-specific COVID-19 resources and guidance that will help our grantees, partners, and stakeholders support individuals, families, communities impacted by COVID-19.

This guidance provides preliminary information on the Community Services Block Grant (CSBG) Coronavirus Aid, Relief, and Economic Security (CARES) Act Supplemental Award process. More detailed information and plan amendment instructions will be forthcoming in an Action Transmittal.
